| The Grand Rapids Higher Education Network (GRAHEN) was organized in October of 1997. It was modeled after similar groups throughout the state of Michigan and across the country. The consortium represents 11 area colleges and universities who join forces to promote academic opportunities for adults in the West Michigan area. |

| GRAHEN establishes the Outstanding Adult Learner Awards. |

| Western Michigan University designs and hosts GRAHEN’s first Web site. |

| GRAHEN members approve by-laws. |

| Thomas M. Cooley Law School joins GRAHEN. |

| 2006 |
| GRAHEN applies for and receives 501c3 status. |

| GRAHEN constructs its own domain, www.grahen.org, and updates its Web site. |
