| Every year, one adult student from each GRAHEN institution is honored as an “Outstanding Adult Learner.” These
students exemplify the ability to successfully juggle their career, school, family and community responsibilities. |

| The process begins with faculty nominations at each institution.
The nominees are then invited to submit an application and a typed essay of 500 words or less along with two letters of recommendation. From each GRAHEN institution, three judges use a point-ranking system to select their outstanding learner
for that year based on each nominee’s: |

- academic accomplishments
- workplace achievement
- grade point average

| In addition to receiving a cash stipend from GRAHEN, the Outstanding Adult Learners are honored in April during a memorable awards ceremony and reception. |
